Clothing Imitates Makeup – Urban Decay Electric

Have you ever seen a piece of clothing that is so representative of something else (like…makeup) that it makes you do a double-take? Today, I did.

Behold:

This is the Milly Lou Lou Sheath in Tokyo Floral Print. If it strikes your heart in some kind of way, Off 5th has it for under $80 (down from $300+).

Far from fashionable or trendy, I stumbled across this dress entirely on accident and immediately thought,

Is that the Urban Decay Electric Palette in dress form?

No, really:

Unfortunately, Urban Decay has discontinued their Urban Decay Electric palette. In spite of being wildly popular and highly-rated, I guess they wanted to move on to what they thought was bigger, better things. That’s unfortunate, but it did mean I was able to score one for $15 at my local Nordstrom Rack in person, but they’re available online for $23 (still over half off!).

I swear suffer from some neuroses where I want palettes rife with Exciting Colors…even though I know won’t wear them much. I was so excited about the KvD Mi Vida Loca holiday palette in 2015 but, like Urban Decay Electric, it would be silly to own. I couldn’t justify that especially at its cost at the time.

I could, however, justify not going out for lunch for two days to buy Electric. Even if I only use it at home for my own amusement, the entertainment value is there.

The Bottom Line

I’m not the blogger to ask for a look suggestion based on this palette to wear with that dress, nor am I suggesting that one ought to. Their powers combined would be too much.
