I previously wrote about Ohora gel nail strips. I had the opportunity to snag a few on deep, deep discount because they’re running some pretty good sales on Amazon – enough to make it worth my while in the context of my previous criticisms and some of their pedi gel strips.
Why I’m Warming Up on Ohora Gel Nail Strips
The big drawback for me before was value in the contrast of being a good polisher. And I like to do my nails! All of that is sitll the case, but I have a demanding job, family responsibilities, four cats, and house projects galore – so Ohora gel nail strips are a much better fit for me today than they were when I first wrote.
Accessibility
I like that the brand is making having nice DIY nails more accessible and afforable for others who might want them.
These require no skill. ANYONE can use these. You just need a lamp!
Pedicures, Unlocked
But more than their gel manicure strips, I came to find that I LOVE their gel pedicure strips. It makes having a fun pedicure really, really effortless and forgiving if you can’t spend an hour+ giving yourself a proper, thorough pedicure.
Pictured above are the P Mermaid Dust variety, which are just stunning in real life. Here are a few others I like:
- P Tide Pool has a marble teal accent nail with gold flakes and white with gold reverse french
- P Cressida is a really gorgeous teal jewel tone that will be nice for fall and winter
- P Arman is a cheerful coral with a fun marble accent nail
- P Watermelon Slice is pretty on-the-nose if you’re in denial about the shortening days
- N Moonlight is a pretty celestial set
- N Mulberry is perfect for fall – though I wish the solid strips were a little less sheer
You do still need to prep your nail surface for adhesion before applying ohora gel nail strips, of course, but you don’t need to be ultra painstaking – ohora gel nail strips are thick enough to cover up surface imperfections.
The Bottom Line
They have expanded their range and have some really stunningly gorgeous designs these days, including packs that are all one pretty design. Just make sure you take a look before you order to make sure you have realistic expectations.
These days, there are over 700+ ohora gel nail strip manicure and pedicure designs, more of which include fun art or things that would be hard to DIY or expensive to do in a salon, I’m looking at Ohora more favorably now. If you’re a salon girly and are looking to cut back while still feeling polished, this might be a good time to check them out!
