Manicure Monday – 11/26 – OPI Infinite Shine Icelanded a Bottle of OPI

Last week, I took the week off. Between life and the holiday, the need for a break snuck up on me. If you’re in the US, I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving. If you aren’t in the US, I hope your Thursday was pretty badass, too.

Update from my Previous Manicure

Gelaze Recycle wore like a champ. Not a chip or flaw anywhere, didn’t lift. In fact, I had to fight it off my nails yesterday morning in order to do this set. It wore like steel (that wasn’t a grey joke, but do what you want) and I was thrilled; it needed to be refreshed, though, simply due to the amount of outgrowth.

So, yeah, that’s right – I got THREE WEEKS of wear out of that set. Brings a tear to my eye!

This Manicure – OPI Infinite Shine Icelanded a Bottle of OPI

In a rare set of events, I did not do a gel set this time. Usually, I’m all gel, all the time for manicures. That said, I have some work travel coming up and I feel that doing a gel set now would just be asking for the risk of lifting and irritation while traveling for business. Since I deliberately plan to redo my nails next weekend or early next week, I opted for something I knew I could tolerate being shorter-lived.

After I had the distinct pleasure of getting an OPI Gelcolor Icelanded a Bottle of OPI set professionally done in October 2017, I tried to get my hands on a bottle to no avail. Instead, I settled for a bottle of OPI Infinite Shine. I don’t love the formula, frankly; but I do love the color and for now, damn it, it’ll do.

Update, 11:30AM: Really, truly, I do not care for the Infinite Shine formula. Looked great in the pictures, looks meh now. There’s some odd shrinkage at the free edge that baffles me for a non-gel formula. Sigh!

China Glaze Ruby Pumps

Bonus Pedicure

My pedicure did not wear quite as robustly. I typically do these every two weeks, but since I went three this time, you could tell that it needed to be redone; the outgrowth was noticeable, there were chips at the free edge, etc. Since I was wearing a red (went with Red Hot Rio last time even though I’ve been wearing a lot of INRAW), it was so damn obvious. Thankfully, since we are now in the thick of Miserable, Shitty Weather here in the Northern Hemisphere, my misdeeds went unnoticed by all but me.

But I still noticed and it chafed me.

Anyway, now that we’re past Thanksgiving, I will be living in China Glaze Ruby Pumps through Christmas. It’s about all the damn cheer I can muster.
