PSA: MUJI Drawers Back on Sale

Last time MUJI did a sale, I snapped up a pair of 5-Drawer acrylic drawers.

I love them! I store my ENTIRE collection, including brushes but sans packaging too large to fit (like foundation or BB cream), in the two drawers. I can see everything, which means my products get used more often.

They’re back on sale!

The 5 drawer, two drawer, and open-top two-drawer, are on sale for $10. Due to their fragile nature, there’s an additional $4 handling, but… that’s nothing!

I’m considering getting a two-drawer to accommodate my foundation and items that are too large for the slim five-drawer openings.

PSA: 20% off FOREO Sale

20% off FOREO Sale

Today through Wednesday, FOREO is offering 20% off ALL devices with code FOREO1216.

Almost two years ago, I considered and ultimately purchased this unconventional toothbrush for my husband who has very sensitive gums. Eventually, eight months ago, I shared his review. His favorable opinion remains the same, and it was awesome to hear that his hygienist and dentist approved of the FOREO Issa mini’s performance, too. We can’t recommend it enough for those of you for whom routine brushing is really uncomfortable for, and who don’t relish the expense that conventional powered toothbrushes bring (cost breakdown on a full-sized ISSA at retail price is in this post).

I decided to buy a FOREO Luna mini for myself around the time we were writing up his review of the Issa Mini. Unlike my other skincare gadget, I’m not intentionally waiting forever to share my thoughts, I’ve honestly just been lazy. My goal is to publish that before the year’s end, but here’s my quick-take on the Luna Mini (not the Luna Mini 2, which I have not tried):

What I Bought During the 2016 VIB Sale

Although I am not buying holiday palettes, that doesn’t mean I’m not shopping. I hit the 20% off VIB Sale at Sephora on Friday. Today is the last day.

Tartelette In Bloom

Look! I’m a cliche! I bought another palette of neutrals, this time on recommendation of Stefanie Nicole of YouTube. I love her no-bullshit approach to … everything, and I trust her judgment. Here’s hoping it works out for me in a way that Naked2 just didn’t. Review to come once I’ve had time with it.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder

After almost a year with the travel size, I decided to invest in the full size. I have yet to hit pan, which I think says a lot about its longevity. I love the finish it gives with and without foundation, and at this rate it will last me forever. The travel sized compact is available for $22.

Colorswitch by Vera Mona

To me, this is definitely a splurge item. I can imagine that there are more cost-effective ways to do accomplish what this does. I decided to pay for convenience – and I will definitely report back on whether or not this is worth it.

VIB Sale Recap

I didn’t go crazy this year. In fact, I wouldn’t have even gotten the ColorSwitch if I hadn’t been a couple dollars shy of locking in VIB for 2017. I was going to buy a larger bottle of Josie Maran 100% Pure Argan Oil but decided against it in favor of trying another variety (gasp, I know – last time that didn’t go so well).

PSA: MUJI Drawer Sale

Muji Drawer Sale

Looking for makeup storage? Many makeup lovers store their collection in MUJI Drawers. Conveniently, there is a MUJI Drawer Sale (now over) going on right now!

Normally $38 each, they’re on sale through October 16 for $10 or until they sell out (they will sell out sooner). Shipping isn’t the cheapest, but at almost 75% off, who cares?

Note: Acrylic items from MUJI do add an additional $4-per-item handling fee. That’s annoying in itself – just roll it into the price already.

I bought two sets for $28 total plus $7.95 shipping – my total was $35.95, which is less than the normal cost of ONE. Had I bought the third I was considering, it would have been $9.95 shipping.

Labor Day

I’m giving myself a day off. I hope you have one to enjoy; if not, I hope you have one soon. For today, some more tidbits.

  • The Urban Decay Electric Palette is on clearance at Macy’s for only $24. Tempting.
  • I have a dream that we live in a world where Sephora does Labor Day sales.
  • Speaking of sales, Ulta is doing another 21 Days of Beauty. Today, they have Becca Luminous Blush and IT Cosmetics eyeliner on sale. Truth be told, though, I’m kind of underwhelmed. I will probably pick up two more Clarisonic brush heads on the 16th, though.
  • In 2015 around now, I talked about my experience with makeup sales people. I did visit this past week, though, and had a far more real, sincere experience. Got color matched, got zero false-flattery BS.
  • I tried out the L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte AND Pro-Glow foundations. They wear well, but I haven’t found the right colors for me. How I wish drugstore items had testers – they’d probably lose less money if they did (rather than some asshat choosing to treat stock as their own tester).
  • Happily, I can report that my hair is NOT losing its mind after several months of primarily using Tigi Moisture Maniac.
  • The red Stridex Pads are still treating my skin kindly, too!
  • Beauty Retailers are going to start stocking their Holiday 2016 sets soon. How crazy is that? I won’t buy any of the holiday palettes, but there’s definitely value in some of the other kits.
  • I finally remembered to redeem my Play! Pass and got my extra 50 Beauty Insider points.
  • I’m in desperate need of a DIY Pedicure and plan to give myself one today.

If you do have the day off for Labor Day, what will you spend it doing?

Cheers.
