Balmy Nights

I’ve been treating myself to a double-cleanse once a week (also on days where I wear a full face, which isn’t my norm). I’ve used a couple different products, but I had forgotten how enjoyable the Boots Cleansing Balm was. The smell isn’t anything special, but it feels great. I’ll slap it on and massage it in before the shower. In the shower I’ll drape a warm washcloth over my face for twenty seconds, then massage it off with the cloth. After, I wash my face with CeraVe foaming and my skin feels awesome.

Basics

Speaking of the washcloths I use with cleansing balm are these AmazonBasics ones. They are twelve-inch squares and are thick, sturdy, and have nicely-hemmed borders. I’ve had them for about a year now and they’ve held up well in the wash and so far haven’t stained – even when I assault them with brush cleaning duty alongisde Cinema Secrets.

You don’t think much about something as mundane about a washcloth, but I really do enjoy these. Some of the Amazon reviews report suboptimal experiences, but everything has been great for me.

Exciting Water

These days, I’m unabashedly trendy in my consumption of sparkling water. Passionfruit is my hands-down favorite La Croix flavor (followed by Lime). It is excellent alone and probably makes a fine mixer if you’re into that sort of thing. Sadly, it isn’t one of the more-common flavors, so I end up ordering from Prime Pantry, Jet, or I pick up eight packs at my local Target (check Cartwheel for deals).

Get Clippy With It

Not the loathed Microsoft Office assistant, anyway. Autumn is my favorite season, but I’m finding season transitions more and more difficult. The days vacillate between humid and dry and my hair doesn’t know WTF to do. Clips are often thrown shade for being un-stylish, but as I am:

  • Not hair-gifted
  • A fan of sleep
  • Work in technical field

–I don’t care. It’s my major professional appearance, “fail,” ha. These octo-jaw clips are great; they’re comfortable, can securely hold long hair, and are cheap.
