October 2015 Favorites

The sky might be falling. I tried a Pumpkin Spice Latte. There are two people in the world who could get me to do such a thing: 1) my husband (but he wouldn’t; unlike me, he is not a coffee drinker, and like me, he doesn’t get the PSL-mania) 2) my best friend, who came to visit – this was her doing. I don’t know that I’d order it again, but it wasn’t as weird as I expected it to be. It certainly isn’t a favorite, but I felt compelled to share.

1. Alpha Hydrox 10% AHA Moisturizing Lotion, $10 / 2. Freeman Clay, Avocado, & Oatmeal Mask, $6
3. EcoTools Eye Enhancing Duo Set, $5 / 4. Naked Juice Smoothies, varies

Anyway, it’s the first week of November, which means two things: the end of 2015 is nigh, and that it’s time to share my October 2015 Favorites. You can check out my favorites this time last year here.

The weather in my area doesn’t know what it is doing. It’s warm, cold, wet, dry, all in a matter of days. Normally, this causes my skin to freak out, but somehow it hasn’t – I’m going to attribute this to more-regular use of this lotion. It’s effective – I don’t care for the smell so much, but it isn’t strong or especially bothersome; for the price, it’s a good buy. I’ll be purchasing my fourth bottle soon, so that should tell you I really do like the stuff.

Hand and hand with that is this mask – historically, I’ve been a Queen Helene Mint Julep devotee like so many other women. Over time the tingly, refreshing Mint Julep mask has fallen out of favor as something I like to use once a week and has been replaced with this clay mask from Freeman.

I’ve been using this EcoTools duo a ton when I’m in a rush – four brushes in two handles with a convenient protective cases means I can stash these in my bag and do a full (not 1-2 shade) eye look when I can’t do it all at home. It’s a great value at under $6.

I love these damn smoothies. I’ve been buying a four-flavor sampler 12 pack from Costco (but the Mighty Mango is my faaavorite of all), having one daily with breakfast, and loving it. Some people don’t dig the sugar content (none of the sugar is added; all of it is from the fruit in the smoothies), but it’s helping me consume more servings of fruit and veggies, so I’m on board. Remember to read labels to stay informed about what you’re consuming.
